Myths and legends are as innumerable as the stars, created as an attempt to explain the world around us. There will always be the spark of curiosity, the questioning of reality as it is understood. The connections that humanity has with this confusing, mysterious world, and even the connections shared between people, are ones that cannot be explained verbally. This lack of accuracy in any kind of descriptive language is what fascinates me and draws me to the subjects of my pieces.

   

I utilize black/gold ink and digital means, specializing in fine detail to attempt to visualize the more mystic and elusive qualities of the world around us. I explore the possible appearances of fantastic creatures, emotional states of the human condition, stories that attempt to explain who we are and what our place is in this life. Hope, empathy, passion: within the explorations of such abstract emotions lies the core of fantastical stories of mythology and fairytales, both of which are commonly my source of inspiration. I seek to create a visual representation that an audience can experience and have a powerful understanding, even if it can't always be put into words. 

Besides myths and legends, well made films and media are a source of inspiration for others. I dig into the symbolism and themes of these films to find the best representation possible in one illustration. I hope to make many reimaginings of beautiful works of literature and film.
